BFG-fired Power Plant of Shanghai Weigang Energy Company

The 1?50MW BFG-fired Power Plant of Shanghai Wei-Steel Company, Ltd. Owned by West Coast Power Co., Ltd., Canada and Shanghai Bao-Steel Group, is a project for environmental protection and energy saving and it is also the first project in China invested by Canada. It is composed of a 220t/h boiler firing blast furnace gas, a 50MW turbo-generator and all the equipments and materials. CNEEC, its general contractor, took charge of design, material procurement, construction, formation, and performance examination. The contract was signed on September, 1997, and finished on Mars, 1999 after the performance examination.

This project is the first general EPC contract that CNEEC got according to the international convention, and it is also the first power plant which generates electricity totally by Blast Furnace Gas. Its putting into production settles an example of environmental protection and energy saving for all the steel companies in China.
