With an installed capacity of 5400KW, ZAZA、BARAGUA、BUYECITO hydropower plants are the largest hydropower plants that China undertook in Cuba. The contract consisted of design of hydropower plant, equipment supply, installation, testing and commissioning. The two units of ZAZA were put into operation in October 2008 and February 2009 respectively.
